We must re-look at those qualities that make us resilient. Some key notions that drive the research, experimentation and practice: FREE-SPACE, BIONIC, 3D CITIES, NEW VITALITIES, COASTAL, WORKSPACE, AGILITY, ECO-TECH HABITATS, PEOPLE.

During the SHARE Belgrade webinar – held on the 28th of May – we had the honor and delight to welcome arch. Christos Passas, director @ZAHAHADID and old friend of SHARE Architects, as a special guest speaker to wander through his thoughts and get an understanding of the resilience of the future cities.

His inspiring lecture focused on a manifesto of resilience and rethinking”. In his words, the manifesto follows “the adjustment of architecture away from a single-minded, capital-driven approach to one that encompasses the facets of human life and humanity dependence on the ecosystem we live in.”

We invite you to reflect together on a few fragments of the manifesto that arch. Christos Passas has introduced:

One of the main characteristics of the human condition in the 21st Century is the shared experiences of global events that are captured by the worldwide audience.  We find ourselves in the middle of yet another emergency and while as a society we respond collectively, on an individual basis we tend to feel weak and insecure.

Global events shape human memory and human memory can shape behavior.  We must be alerted to this fact. As Architects, we ought to do what we can, not to respond, not to react, but to develop concepts and strategies to help move humanity to the next stage, by re-establishing the core values that sustain us, as a species.

We must re-look at those qualities that make us resilient. Some key notions that drive the research, experimentation and practice: FREE-SPACE, BIONIC, 3D CITIES, NEW VITALITIES, COASTAL, WORKSPACE, AGILITY, ECO-TECH HABITATS, PEOPLE
