Announcement of first guest speakers for SHARE Albania 2023, International Architecture Forum

On 7 March, the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet in Tirana will host the fifth edition of the SHARE Forum in Albania. The main themes of the event are “Sustainable Facades: Design and Technology”, “Living and Working Architecture”, “Large Scale Development Projects”.  

 

SHARE Albania 2023, The International Architecture and Technology Innovation Forum will bring together national and international renowned architects, innovators in architecture and building technologies, great personalities in architecture. It will provide access to information and new opportunities for cooperation.

The first international speakers announced are Bernard Storch, Partner PLP/Architecture, UK; Andrea D’Antrassi, Associate Partner MAD architects, China; Martin Josst, Partner DMAA – Delugan Meissl Associated Architects, Austria; Emre Arolat, Founder and Design Partner of Emre Arolat Architecture, Turkey; Dean Lah, Director Enota, Slovenia; Ilias Papageorgiou, Principal PILA, Greece; Marco Petreschi, founder of Petreschi Architects, Italy

Brief introduction to the invited speakers

 

Martin Josst, Partner DMAA – Delugan Meissl Associated Architects, Austria

Delugan Meissl Associated Architects (DMAA) enhances contemporary surroundings by creating architecture with a sharp edge.  The office’s most recent project, the Taiyuan Botanical Garden Domes, won the Institution of Structural Engineers 2021 Structural Awards and the Gold Medal for Outstanding Design, 2021. Martin Josst led one of DMAA’s most prestigious projects, the multi-award winning Porsche Museum project in Stuttgart.

 

Bernard Storch, Partner PLP/Architecture, UK

Bernard Storch is one of the key members of PLP Architecture, which has extensive experience and expertise, having completed numerous projects in the UK, Europe, India and the Middle East. At SHARE Albania 2023, he will present two of PLP’s most recent projects: 22 Bishopsgate, the tallest twenty-three-sided facetted glass tower in London’s financial district, and the World Trade Center in Amsterdam, with its innovative curved glass roof.

 

Andrea D’Antrassi, Associate Partner MAD architects

With professional experience in the USA, Italy, France, Australia and China, Andrea D’Antrassi is an Associate Partner at MAD Architects, responsible for the Chinese firm’s European projects.

He has 14 years of experience in developments such as high-rise buildings, hotels, resorts, office and residential buildings, shopping malls, concert halls/auditoriums, master plans. MAD is committed to developing futuristic, organic, technologically advanced designs that embody a contemporary interpretation of the Eastern affinity with nature. MAD’s vision for the city of the future is based on the spiritual and emotional needs of its inhabitants. MAD strives to create a balance between humanity, the city and the environment.

 

Dean Lah, Director Enota, Slovenia

Dean Lah is an award-winning architect. His work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and published in professional and popular publications around the world. He lectures at architectural schools, conferences and symposiums in Slovenia and abroad. Since 2016 he has been a lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Maribor. He is a member of several architectural award and competition juries, board member of the Chamber of Architecture and Spatial Planning of Slovenia, member of the European Forum for Architectural Policies, board member of the Architects Association of Ljubljana, and several other formal and informal networks and events related to architecture, with the intention of promoting the importance of architectural quality.

 

Emre Arolat, Founder and Design Partner of Emre Arolat Architecture, Turkey

Founding partner and lead designer Emre Arolat has been a professor at the International Academy of Architecture and is frequently invited to serve on high-profile juries and as a visiting professor at various prominent universities and academic institutions around the world. These include the Center for Architecture, the Architecture League of New York, Pratt Institute, Cooper Union, RIBA London. He was the Norman R. Foster Visiting Professor at the Yale School of Architecture in the 2017 autumn semester.

Emre received international recognition early in his career with the Mies Van der Rohe Award for European Architecture for the Minicity Theme Park in Antalya, Turkey (2004) and the Aga Khan Award for Architecture for the design of the Ipekyol Textile Factory in Edirne, Turkey (2006). His Sancaklar Mosque won the RIBA International Prize in 2018.

 

Ilias Papageorgiou, Principal PILA, Greece

Ilias Papageorgiou has considerable experience in both Europe and the United States, having led the design and construction of well-known commercial, residential and cultural buildings around the world. Ilias has worked with clients such as MINI/BMW, Versace, Google, AirBnB, the Frieze Art Fair, the Manetti Shrem Museum at UC Davis, the Guggenheim Museum, and the New Museum in New York.

 

Marco Petreschi, founder of Petreschi Architects, Italy

Architect and professor of architectural composition. In 2001 he founded the degree course in Interior Design and Furniture at the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’, which he directed until 2006. Visiting professor and guest lecturer at American and European universities. His theoretical and applied research activity is carried out through the publication of essays and critical readings, participation in national and international architectural competitions and the design and realisation of public works. His work has been published in books and journals.

Marco Petreschi was a key architect in the renovation of the Central Bank of Albania in Tirana.
