WORK | Projects of Constantinos Constanti
Flamingo Paradise Beach Hotel
The goal of the Design team, which was determined from the beginning of Flamingo Paradise Beach’s Hotel design process, was to visually and physically unite the city with the sea. Located in Paralimni, the bulk of the rooms are above ground level, while the communal areas are below street level (taking use of the height differential between the street and the sea), allowing for a better perspective.
A straight path is created, beginning on the main road and running through all levels of the hotel to terminate, either on the beach or on the observation bridge/platform, with a peaceful unhindered panoramic view of the sea.
Water House
The architects’ intention is to use Cyprus’s exceptional climate to remove the boundaries between indoor and outdoor space. The design turns movement in space into an experience in which the rich outdoor vegetation and landscaped surfaces are an extension and active part of the interior was the starting point for the design.
This final (or initial) intention guided every architectural move and every building detail. The axes of motion are transformed into the building’s design axis. Already from the street, the visitor’s straight path becomes the backbone upon which the house is formed. The natural flow up to the entryway is translated into the gaze movement from the welcome area onwards. Simultaneously, the user is asked to choose between private and public, resulting in a distinct separation of usage that is finally aesthetically reunited through the external environment.
NEO Plaza
Located in Nicosia, The picture of a typical Cypriot traditional village inspired the architecture of Neo plaza, an entertainment / commercial village.
The alternatives for the project were identified by a spatial analysis of the historic village and the additional features that comprise it.
