“High performance geometry for AEC” with ZAHA HADID Architects, UK

A round table discussion conducted by ZAHA HADID Architects, UK

“High performance geometry for AEC”, a note on the importance of a common language of geometry to empower a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach to meet the challenges facing the AEC., entitles the round table panel held by SHAJAY BHOOSHAN, Head of Computation and Design research (ZHACODE), Zaha Hadid Architects, UK, on the 23rd of November at Palazzo Badoer,Università Iuav di Venezia, from 1.45 – 3.45 P.M. during the SHARE X: Conference for Advanced Architecture.

Shajay is an aspiring polymath. He is an Associate Director at Zaha Hadid Architects where he co-founded and heads the Computation and Design research group (ZHACODE, 2007). He is an alumnus and a studio-master at the post-graduate course of Design Research Laboratory at the Architectural Association, London (AADRL, 2006). Shajay pursued his scientific interests in digital design and robotic fabrication during his Doctoral studies at the Block Research Group (BRG, 2022) at the ETH, Zurich and previously as a M.Phil. graduate from University of Bath (2016).

“High performance geometry for AEC” will develop during a presentation of 45 minutes the role of high performance geometry for the AEC industry.

The round table will highlight:

  • Importance of a common language of geometry to empower a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach to meet the challenges facing the AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) industry.
  • The effectiveness of masonry construction with 3D concrete printed ‘stone’ to achieve sustainable and circular construction goals is unreasonable.
  • The surprising relevance of video game technologies is to attract new talent to the profession and to democratise digital design and robotic manufacturing advances.

This exceptional meeting between professionals will present real-world applications of both ongoing and completed research and it aims to not only showcase successful integrations of these innovative techniques into project design and construction, but also to stimulate dialogue through a 45-minutes open discussion with the audience members moderated by ETAN KIMMEL, Founder Kimmel Eshkolot Architects, Israel

SHARE X: Conference for Advanced Architecture

The International Conference for Advanced Architecture will take place on 23rd of November at Università Iuav di Venezia, Palazzo Badoer and the following day, on the 24th it will be hosted at M9 Museum, Mestre. The Conference will be chaired by arch. Luca Molinari, Scientific director of M9 Museum and is organised by SHARE Architects together with Ordine degli Architetti Pianificatori Paesaggisti e Conservatori Venezia,under the patronage of the Fondazione Degli Architetti, Pianificatori, Paesaggisti e Conservatori della Provincia Di Venezia, and Federazione Regionale Ordini Architetti PPC Veneto.
