Vasile Stratu’s dedication to architecture was awarded with the SHARE OPERA OMNIA AWARD in honor of his lifelong contribution to the field of architecture and urban planning, continuous and persistent architectural research, and for his outstanding achievements in the transformation and evolution of architecture in the Republic of Moldova.
Vasile Stratu is one of the most appreciated architects of the Republic of Moldova, a visionary who managed to combine tradition with innovation in his projects. Born with a deep passion for architecture, he followed his dream by graduating from the “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture and Urbanism in Bucharest in 1997. Even while still in University, he stood out for his deconstructivism approach, demonstrating a special talent in shaping spaces and architectural forms.
In 2007, Vasile Stratu founded the architectural office Arhistrat-Deco, thus becoming a central figure in the architectural landscape of the Republic of Moldova. Under his leadership, this office developed a series of impressive projects, ranging from individual homes to multifunctional complexes, hotels and office buildings. Always attentive to details and eager for innovation, Stratu demonstrated that architecture is not only a science, but also an art of balancing functionality and aesthetics.
Throughout his career, he has completed numerous landmark projects. These include the design of the “SAB’ 97” car exhibition in Bucharest, the redesign of a hotel in Sohren, Germany, the design of a winery in the village of Ulmu, and the construction of the “Vinăria din Vale” tourist complex in Slobozia Mare. In 2020, he contributed to the modernization of the Chisinau International Airport, and in 2024 he won the competition for the design of the new headquarters of Teleradio-Moldova, demonstrating once again that his architectural vision always remains in step with the times.
Recognition for his work was not long in coming, and the awards he has received over the years attest to the exceptional quality of his projects. In 2016, he participated in the prestigious “New National Gallery – Berlin” competition, and in 2019 he was awarded at the Romanian Architecture Annual for the project of the winery in Ulmu. In 2023, at RAM Moldova, he was rewarded for the design of a café, and in 2024 he was nominated for the SHARE Architecture Awards for the cross-border project “Eminescu”.
Vasile Stratu is not only a talented architect, but also an innovator who has brought a fresh perspective to the architectural landscape of the Republic of Moldova. His deconstructivist philosophy and passion for modern materials define his style. Each creation he produces is not just a building, but a true piece of art, seamlessly integrated into the urban environment.
