PROJECTS TO BE PRESENTED DURING THE EVENT
Project #1: New Tashkent Masterplan
Start year: 01.05.2023
New Tashkent is a new ‘twin’ city, to the east of the existing capital of Uzbekistan, the largest city in Central Asia. The new masterplan, led by Cross Works alongside the Directorate of New Tashkent (the government entity in charge of the city’s design and delivery) has been designed on a 25,000 hectare site, with the objective of providing homes, work places, community facilities, commercial buildings and cultural uses for more than 2.5 million new inhabitants. The project aims to be a benchmark for the design, planning and construction of new cities for Central Asia, setting new norms for urban design standards across the region. The first phase made up of 6,000 hectares is already under construction on site.
