Biography
ABOUT
Sergiu PETREA is founder and Managing Partner of the TecTo Arhitectura office, which was established in 2004. He has a PhD in Emergency Arhcitecture since 2011 and has followed several study and professional development programs in different universities in Romania. Starting from 2014, he is a member of various management forums of the Romanian Order of Architects. He is a member of the Board of Directors of ARDLD – the Romanian Association for Sustainable Local Development and is actively involved in scientific research and promotion of sustainable development in the built environment. He has been exploring since the beginning the perspectives of a sustainable approach to architectural design and green construction planning. In the current context of climate issues and the need to rationalize resources, the projects he is involved in are focused on energy performance strategies, bioclimatic experiment and technological and digital innovation in construction. Over the years, TecTo Arhitectura focused mainly on the design of sustainable constructions, with low energy consumption and a wide tipology – from houses and HORECA buildings to offices and educational buildings. Prioritizing the quality of life in the built environment, social inclusion and urban regeneration under the auspices of ecological design are also consistently pursued by TecTo Architectura, as confirmed by numerous awards, distinctions and specialized publications.
