Olsi Eftimi

Olsi Eftimi, born in 1978, is one of the newest creative architects of post-communist generation in Albania, with almost 15 years of professional progressive experience designing in medium and large scale residential, social and cultural buildings. Partner of Atelier 4.

Extensive background in architecture directing all project phases, from concept design through completion of construction, coordinating the efforts of contractors and government agencies. Outstanding experience operating in a wide range of projects including, hotels, theaters, schools, residential buildings, etc.

Excellent technical qualifications complement an innate sense of creativity in the design of aesthetically attractive, architecturally strong and utilitarian space.

Atelier 4 is an integrated urban planning, architectural, civil and infrastructure engineering consulting firm founded on February 2003 in Tirana, Albania.

At the heart of the firm’s approach to design is a process that has been developed over the years, in which the client is brought fully into the design team, making the design a true working collaboration.

Our practice is grounded in the belief that this thoughtful and collaborative approach is necessary for all projects, especially those whose impact and complexity is considerable. Rather than waiting until a project’s design is developed to conduct in-depth planning research, Atelier 4 obtains this critical knowledge early on: at the beginning of a project’s concept design phase.

By understanding clients’ project goals and strategizing methods to achieve them from the very beginning, the project’s budget and timeline are preserved and respected, and a more compelling design is conceived to serve as the basis from which the final project grows.

As consulting architects & engineers, we are always focusing on improving technical and economic parameters affecting the engineering and environmental projects’ lifecycle, from conception to completion. Working closely with our clients of the public and private sector as well as with all other stakeholders from the early stages of a project, we strive to find common ground from beginning to end.

Atelier 4’s scope of work at the early beginning of the practice was focused only on urban planning and architectural design. Over the years our services expanded in more disciplines to offer a comprehensive variety of services related to our field.

Atelier 4 offers full range of various services of professional level, which can be summarized (but not limited to) pre-feasibility and feasibility studies – both technical and economic, preliminary design, detailed design, bill of quantities and budgeting, technical specifications and supervision during construction in the following fields: Architecture & Civil Engineering, Urban Planning & Design, Land Development Planning & Engineering, Transport Infrastructure & Water related projects, Environmental, Ecological Assessments & Planning.

Awards of the office: AADIPA 2019 – participated with Toptani’s Old Castle Bazaar & Restoration and urban revitalisation of New Bazaar / Avni Rustemi square in Tirana, including design for the New Fruits and Vegetables Market, Meat Market and the reconstruction of the surrounding buildings’ facade”; New Bazaar – Nominated for category B – Heritage after the intervention;

BIG SEE 2019 – participated with New Bazaar – Selected for BIG SEE Architecture Award;

Mies Van der Rohe 2019 – participated with New Bazaar & arTurbina. Project has been nominated for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture Mies Van Der Rohe Award 2019. – New Bazaar nominated in the top 40 projects;
