Matius Ichim is a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture “G.M. Cantacuzino” at “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași and is passionate about both architecture and people. He has dedicated his over 20 years of career to the study of commerce as a social phenomenon, redefining the exchange of material and spiritual goods
between people. With every tackled commercial unit, Matius recreates the essential rules: brand visual identity, memorability, managing the flow of clients, defining the points of interaction between the client and the space. In just a short time, Matius Ichim has become known in the world of retail as a specialist architect, co-founder and managing partner of STUDIO Matius.
Matius’s company is the first in Romania specialized exclusively in retail architecture and branding, with a portfolio of clients such as Victoria’s Secret, Mango, Noriel, Animax, Pegas, Lacoste, Lancel, D’S Damat, Buzz, Roberto Bravo, Columbia Sportswear, Killtec, Levi’s, Frey Wille, Douglas and LC Waikiki. Built together with his partner, Alina Andrieș, MATIUS STUDIO reunites a core of 18 professional and experienced architects, engineers, stage directors and retail experts. The team designed several of the most important network stores in Romania, such as: Noriel, Autograf, F64, Benvenuti, Dona Farmacies, Adesgo, Pegas, FarmaVet, Brise, Mirandi, Agnes Toma and Doina Levinta. The total number of projects comprises more than 11% of modern retail units all around the country, the studio’s team transforming up to 15% of the total number of each shopping mall in Romania.
