Biography
ABOUT
Șerban Țigănaș is an architect from Cluj. He started his activity by winning several architectural competitions and working in Alba Iulia, Brașov and Cluj and having projects all over the country. His career develops on three levels: of the profession, through the projects carried out with the office he founded together with the engineer Florin Dico; of professional training, as a professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and as an activist for the profession, in various formulas, as president of the Romanian Order of Architects (2010-2018), as a member of the board of the Council of Architects of Europe (2008-2010), in the Council of the International Union of Architects (2014-2017), holding the position of Secretary General of the International Union of Architects (2017-2021). He is currently the dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca.

SHORT DESCRIPTION OF THE OFFICE
Founded in 1997 by 2 partners, Florin Dico and Serban Tiganas, the practice gathers around 50 architects and engineers in a multidisciplinary design office. The main fields of design is Sport facilities, Industrial, Health and Housing.

PROJECTS TO BE PRESENTED DURING THE EVENT
Project #1: Reform Parking, Cluj-Napoca
Start year: 20.05.2017
The project is a central parking building inserted in the historical urban fabric of Cluj-Napoca, mediating between the historical street and the monumental grave yard.
Project #2: Multisports Hall Brasov
Start year: 20.06.2020
It is a 10.000 sets polivalent sports hall replacing an old stadium, design to fit in a complex landscape and neighborhood. It creates a community park for relaxation and events. The form is inspired by an old stone quarry from close.
