PROJECTS TO BE PRESENTED DURING THE EVENT
Project #1: Higold Headquartered
Start year: 10.04.2017
Higold’s headquarters, which will rise in Shunde, is an iconic and elegant complex of 32000 sqm where architectural elements, public spaces and products integrate into a strong and unparalleled identity. Pininfarina Architecture is responsible for the entire architectural project, from the façade design to the landscape. The project focuses on the connection between two buildings, the main one dedicated to offices and the other used as guest quarters. It draws inspiration from a poetic concept: a mother making way for her child, supporting him in the first steps of its life. The extension of the mother’s arm reaching the child’s hand was the driving element of the entire project, centered on the creation of a connecting bridge. The curtain walls create a more nuanced effect towards the outside, thanks to a double glazed skin and a more transparent surface on the inside, contributing to the building’s iconic character. This provides not only more privacy for the executive offices, but also great energy savings due to the air ventilation in the double skin that reduces heating/cooling demand throughout the year. Nature is a focal point of the project, as demonstrated by an accurate landscape design that penetrates the building itself. Greenery is a crucial architectural element in the perception of this office complex: green outer boundaries gently introduce visitors to the central areas of the property. Once inside, small hanging gardens floating on the water, like lotus flowers, lead to the main lobbies that are located under the iconic connecting element of the project: a glazed canopy that protects the main entrance and houses a spectacular outdoor green showroom on the roof.
