Four remarkable romanian studios showcased their projects in Bucharest
At SHARE Romania 2024, held in Bucharest on November 6-7, four representative local architecture studios were invited to showcase their projects, which they considered the most relevant, under the umbrella concept Blueprints of Innovation. These studios were STARH, Artline, 9Opțiune, and AriConsult.
STARH is a multi-award-winning architecture firm founded in 1996 by Iulia and Florian Stanciu, both professors at the “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture and Urbanism in Bucharest. In addition to numerous local competitions, STARH has won several international competitions for projects such as the OAR Bucharest Headquarters (2014), the National Museum of History in Bucharest (2016), the Cluj City Hall (2019), Brașov Central Square (2022), and the DN3C Park in Constanța (2022).
Under the title Public Square Recovery, the STARH exhibition focused on one of the firm’s most recent projects, which revitalized the latent public impact of one of Bucharest’s most significant areas through conversion, openness, urban artifacts, and a sustainable green approach.
Artline is a Bucharest-based architecture firm founded in 1994 by Radu Teacă. It boasts an impressive portfolio of highly regarded projects, numerous awards, and citations in prestigious international books and publications.
The Artline exhibition at SHARE Romania 2024 summarized the firm’s activity over its three decades of existence, highlighting the evolution and diversity of its projects in terms of programs, materials, and scale.
Founded in the same year, 1994, the third exhibitor, ARI Consult, presented a highly diverse portfolio encompassing a wide range of architectural styles. One of its recent projects, Casa Melcului, was shortlisted for the SHARE Architects Awards 2024. Like its peers at Artline, ARI Consult’s exhibition at SHARE Romania 2024 reflected on its three decades of activity under the title ARI Consult – 30 Years of Architectural Design: Crafting Spaces, Shaping Lives.
The fourth exhibitor, 9 Opțiune, hailed from northern Romania, in Maramureș, and exhibited under the title Rehabilitated Heritage – Public Space Returned to the Community. “Architecture must be more than building walls; it must ignite the spirit and soul of the place,” said Ștefan Paskucz, founder of 9 Opțiune, based in Baia Mare.
The four exhibitions were inaugurated on November 6 during The SHARE Architects Society Networking Evening. Each studio presented its manifesto, after which the audience was guided on a tour of each section.
The event was supported by or valued partners: Șișecam, Isopan, Reynaers Aluminum, Alukönigstahl, and Zumtobel.
