Foster+Partners, UNStudio, and XTU Architects were among the renowned studios presented at SHARE Serbia 2024
SHARE Serbia 2024—International Architecture Forum, marking its sixth edition, took place on November 26 at the Radisson Collection Hotel, Old Mill Belgrade.
The event, which had the theme of Sustainable Facades and Urban Landscapes, was essential for all professionals in the AEC industry, including architects, structural engineers, facade engineers, installation engineers, contractors, real estate developers, urban developers, and government representatives.
Moderated by Dr. Bojana Jerković-Babović, Teaching Assistant at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Architecture, the first session opened with three case studies presented by Nemanja Zorić, Chief of Construction at KAPAPROJEKT. He guided the audience through the development of large-scale projects like Nikola Tesla Airport Belgrade, Belgrade Center Main Railway Station, and the Atlantic-Stark New Food Factory.
Next, Gizem Güngör Erkiliç, Architectural Projects Supervisor at Şişecam, explored the balance between quality and sustainability, followed by a presentation on Slovenia’s largest wooden building – the Overall Winner at the SHARE Architecture Awards in Athens on October 8. This project was presented by Slovenian firm InnoRenew CoE by Eva Prelovšek Niemelä, Head of the Research Department for Creativity & Society at InnoRenew CoE.
The session concluded with Joe Morris, Founder of Morris+Company (UK), who presented Urban Continuity: Crafting a Modern Legacy at 15 Norton Folgate, London, using the Norton Folgate case study.
Dr. Mila Mojsilović, Teaching Assistant at the University of Belgrade—Faculty of Architecture, moderated the second session, which began with a keynote by Vladimir Milenković, Co-Founder of Neoarhitekti (Serbia). This was followed by a presentation titled From Trash to Treasure by Andrei Simion, Product Manager at TeraPlast, the event’s Main Partner.
Next, Sebastian Săvescu, Founder of SAM Ideas (Romania), presented a case study on the Diagnostic Center for the Regional Oncological Institute of Iași.
French architect Anouk Legendre, Founder of XTU Architects, delved into the story of the iconic Cité du Vin project in France and two major projects: the City of Sciences in Iraq and the Amiral Offices on La Réunion Island.
To wrap up, the audience enjoyed an exceptional presentation by Sherif Tarabishy, Associate Director at Foster + Partners (UK), on Streamlining Collaboration Through Technology. Finally, Nataliya Kuznetsova, Senior Architect and Associate at UNStudio, discussed the sensational Southbank by Beulah project in Melbourne, Australia, which is currently under construction.
