ABOUT
Raluca Șoaita is partner architect and the driving force behind Tesseract’s creative and strategic direction. A specialist in healthcare architecture with nearly 20 years of experience in the field, Raluca brings a unique sensibility to every project — one that bridges the technical and the emotional. With a background rooted in both architecture and visual culture, she approaches each commission not only as a complex technical challenge, but as a space of human interaction, care, and recovery.
SHORT DESCRIPTION ABOUT THE OFFICE
We are Tesseract, a multidisciplinary team of architects specialized in healthcare architecture, where functionality meets sensitivity. Our practice extends into art and exhibition design, rooted in the belief that space can tell stories and evoke emotion. While architectural rigor guides our work, we’re also passionate about technology — including artificial intelligence — and we approach design as an ongoing process of research and experimentation.

PROJECTS TO BE PRESENTED DURING THE EVENT
Project #1: Marie Curie. Hospital for Children
Start year: 12.12.2016
The main purpose of this project revolved around the initiative #WeBuildAHospital: building from scratch a children s hospital entirely from donations and sponsorships – a new wing for Marie Curie Hospital for Children. The team of architects together with the „Dăruieşte Viaţă” Association defined the design theme alongside the users, also involving the medical staff and specialists in other fields. The main objective of the architects team was both to create a precedent of good practices and to generate a pilot project at national level, by focusing the approach on the patient and the humanization of medical space. The extension of the Marie Curie Hospital for Children is integrated into a larger plan for the development of a medical campus. The main objective of the project is to improve the relationship between all the users of this space by optimyzing the working and treatment conditions and by offering new opportunities, thus transforming the medium and long term hospitalization experience.
