SHARE Architects Journey (4): The Caucasus

In 2024, we took the first step into the Caucasus region by organizing the first edition of SHARE Georgia, which took place on October 11 at the Pullman Tbilisi Axis Towers. Next year will mark our growing involvement in this region, as Armenia will also be added to the SHARE events map, with the first SHARE conference scheduled to take place in Yerevan.

The Caucasus region offers a fascinating intersection of ancient heritage and contemporary innovation. While foreign architects bring new ideas, local designers strive to retain cultural authenticity, creating a unique regional identity. Tourism growth, particularly in Georgia and Armenia, and the demand for architecturally significant hospitality projects is also inevitable. Both countries are at pivotal moments, balancing the preservation of rich traditions with contemporary advancements and sustainability-focused approaches.

SHARE Georgia 2024 was a great success, underlining Georgia’s emerging status as a hub for architectural innovation in the Caucasus region.

With 300 architects and designers filling the conference room at the Pullman Tbilisi Axis Towers and a lineup of distinguished speakers from around the world, including renowned architects, structural engineers, and urban planners, SHARE Georgia 2024 delved into a wide range of topics from sustainable design to cutting-edge construction techniques and urban development trends.

“We are delighted to organize the first edition of the SHARE International Architecture Forum in Georgia. In the well-established SHARE Architects system, the forum serves as an active platform where diverse contributions converge, productive dialogues spark unexpected ideas, realized concepts become inspirations for new projects, and the intersections of different directions and perspectives outline the complex current sphere of the profession. Through presentations, debates, questions, and answers, objective analyses and personal approaches, and from shared concerns to general contemporary issues, an updated image of the field of architecture is formed—a vision that SHARE Architects aim to highlight for the benefit of all participants.” – Florin Mindirigiu, Founder SHARE Architects
