Biography
Adelina TAHIRI NELA, is an architect and co-founder of LOCUS. She is a graduate of Montana State University (2010). She is now a PhD Candidate at University of Ljubljana, with the research area of interest being smart, sustainable and resilient cities. She has practiced sustainable architecture for over 10 years, and leaded projects of various types and scales, such as housing, mixed use developments, hospitals and civic projects. One of the latest significant projects being New US Embassy Compound Pristina, first LEED certified building in Kosovo, where she was involved as a Quality Assurance Architect (LEED Green Associate) for design and construction phases of this project. She is very interested on participating in community projects; she was co-curator of the exhibition of Community Design Pristina in 2015, and the exhibition of Khumbu Climbing School, Montana 2010.
LOCUS office is a platform of research, design, architecture and planning, based in Pristina, Kosovo. A local office, with professionals that have extensive backgrounds in projects of various scales, nationally and internationally, devoted to architecture and planning based on research, with the aim of creating sustainable environments that can be economically affordable, while contributing to social well-being. SUSTAINABILITY is at the heart of everything we do.
