Biography
Ștefan Simion is a Ph.D. senior lecturer at the ‘Ion Mincu’ University of Architecture and Urbanism in Bucharest and principal of the design studio for the 2nd and 3rd year of study. He has taught at EPF Lausanne, the International School of Rabat, Pratt New York, Politecnica di Milano.
He is the author of the award-winning book “The ambiguity of the masterpiece.11 interviews on the architecture of Livio Vacchini ”, ed. Arhitext design, published following post-doctoral research at EPF Lausanne (www.liviovacchini.ch).
With Irina Melita, he is founder and editor-in-chief of the magazine www.mazzocchioo.com; and founder of the architectural office www.theposter.ro.
Among the latest architectural prizes won: Prize and Nomination for two houses at the International Biennial of Architecture BETA 2020 (www.competition.betacity.eu/proiecte/casa-rasuri/; www.competition.betacity.eu/projects / atelierul-de-ceramica-poster /) and the 2nd prize in the international competition for the new headquarters of the county council of Cluj (www.oar.archi/ro/concursuri/rezultate/noul-consiliu-judetean-cluj).
After winning a national competition, POSTER was curator of the Romanian pavilion at the 17th edition of the Venice Architecture Biennale 2021 through the project www.fadingborders.eu which deals with the complex relationship between migration and the built environment.
