Alukönigstahl Romania: When dialogue with architects becomes a strategy for performance and sustainability
In a context where design freedom must go hand in hand with energy efficiency and environmental responsibility, a genuine partnership between architects and solution providers becomes essential. Attila Beer, CEO of Alukönigstahl Romania and the Republic of Moldova, talks about how ongoing exchange with the SHARE community influences the selection and communication of systems, about the role of customization in contemporary architecture, and about the key directions for 2026 and beyond.
Alukönigstahl Romania has been an active partner of the architectural community in Romania and the Republic of Moldova for many years through the SHARE Architects platform. How has this ongoing dialogue with architects shaped the way Alukönigstahl’s solutions are tailored, developed, and communicated to best meet the real needs of the local market?
The ongoing dialogue with architects—built over time through direct project collaboration and strengthened through SHARE Architects—has become an essential reference point in how Alukönigstahl Romania develops and communicates its solutions. For us, this partnership means more than supporting an event and a community; it is a genuine relationship based on the exchange of know-how and vision.
Architects have helped us understand the specifics of the local market in greater depth—from challenges related to regulations, budgets, and execution, to the aesthetic and functional ambitions of contemporary projects. This insight is directly reflected in how we select and promote the systems in our portfolio: we focus on high-performing, proven solutions that can be adapted to diverse project typologies and on-site conditions.
At the same time, we place increased emphasis on how we communicate, especially when it comes to technical information—making it clearer, more practical, and oriented toward solutions and real design scenarios. In this way, our role is not simply that of a systems supplier, but that of a dialogue partner for architects, starting from the earliest concept stages.
Ongoing dialogue with architects—through projects and SHARE Architects—guides how Alukönigstahl Romania develops and communicates its solutions.
In today’s context, architects increasingly seek creative freedom, flexibility, and customisable solutions. How do the systems promoted by Alukönigstahl Romania support contemporary architectural expression while also meeting increasingly strict requirements for sustainability, energy efficiency, and performance?
Contemporary architecture calls for an increasingly delicate balance between creative freedom, technology, and responsibility. Our systems are designed to support exactly this balance—giving architects maximum design flexibility without compromising performance or quality.
Our portfolio of façade, window, and door systems enables large openings, transparency, bespoke geometries, and seamless integration into complex architectural concepts. A high level of customisation helps architects translate their vision into solutions that are technically feasible, safe, and reliable.
At the same time, sustainability is now a baseline requirement. That’s why the systems we provide meet today’s expectations for energy efficiency, lower carbon impact, and responsible use of resources. Thermal performance, durability, recyclability, and compatibility with shading or automation solutions are key features that support both architectural quality and project sustainability goals.

Looking ahead to 2026 and beyond, which trends or development directions do you believe will become essential for architects in Romania and the Republic of Moldova? How are these perspectives reflected in Alukönigstahl Romania’s strategy and the evolution of its portfolio?
Looking toward 2026 and beyond, we believe architects in Romania and the Republic of Moldova will work in an increasingly complex context shaped by stricter sustainability requirements, accelerated digitalisation, and greater responsibility toward the built environment and the communities it serves.
Energy-efficient buildings that can adapt over time will become essential—able to respond to climate, regulatory, and social change. We also see a growing focus on spatial quality, user comfort, and the long-term durability and value of buildings.
Alukönigstahl Romania’s strategy is aligned with these directions. We are expanding our portfolio with innovative, certified solutions designed to meet future market demands—not only today’s requirements. We invest in technical expertise, specialised consultancy, and strong partnerships with architects to support projects that are relevant, durable, and valuable in the long term.
We believe the future belongs to genuine collaboration between architects, contractors, and solution providers—and Alukönigstahl is committed to this role as a strategic partner in shaping contemporary architecture.
