SHARE WARSAW 2016
INTERNATIONAL ARCHITECTURE FORUM

SHARE Warsaw 2016 International Architecture Forum is a dynamic and inspirational event including three professional conferences organized simultaneously on 11th October, at Marriott Hotel: RIFF (façades, floor, roofs, insulation), INGLASS (glass architecture & engineering), LAUD (landscape architecture & urban infrastructure).

The lectures in the program of SHARE Warsaw 2016 International Architecture Forum are concentrated on innovation in architecture, engineering, construction, design & computation, with practical examples from implemented projects signed by world-famous architects.

The one day forum includes an official opening plenary session, three thematic conferences, masterclasses and debates and an official closing plenary session, a networking platform organized in the form of an exhibition.

Highlights:

12 countries will be represented by awarded architects: Germany, Spain, UK, Denmark, Mexic, Bulgaria, Belgium, Hungary, Italy, Turkey, The Netherlands and Poland.

Forum themes: awarded projects from all over the world, inspired by glass; evolving trends in façade design and engineering; new designs of roofs, floors and insulation; innovative landscape works and directions for urbanization; professional CAD and Structural Engineering Design Software solutions for the construction industry; new revolutionary materials and technologies for designing a better built environment, used in large scale projects;

Attendee mix: architects, landscape architects, engineers, contractors, investors, developers, consultants, representatives of the academia and of the professional associations, suppliers of architectural products and services.

Masterclass “Explorations in Glass” by arch. Gijs Rikken from MVRDV, on the making of Crystal Houses in Amsterdam signed together with star architect Winy Maas, project that brings a poetic innovation in glass construction.

Masterclass “Adaptive Building Skins” by prof. dr. eng. Jan Knippers from the Institute of Building Structures and Structural Design (ITKE), Partner Knippers Helbig Advanced Engineering, Stuttgart, Germany, a specialist in complex parametrical generated structures for roofs and façades, as well as the use of glass-fibre reinforced polymers, winner Iconic Awards – Concept – Visionary Architecture;

Lecture by arch. Robert Konieczny from KMK Promes, joint winner 2016 European Prize for Urban Public Space with the project Dialogue Centre “Przełomy” at Solidarność Square from Szczecin.

Notable presence in the event of arch. Fuensanta Nieto, co-founder Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos from Spain, a key name in the new wave of Spanish architecture, awarded in 2015 with Alvar Aalto Medal and recipient of AIA Honorary Fellowship.

Project Architect / Architect MVRDV bv, The Netherlands
Guest Speaker, MVRDV

„Buildings are often heavy and solid things. Made to house, to contain, to shelter. There is often a blunt permanence in them, caused by the straightforwardness of their stone facades or concrete walls.
But will they always remain so? Could they transform into something lighter, something more ephemeral in future times? Can they become less obvious and more coincidental?
The glass bricks of the Crystal Houses show a building component on the edge of its existence. It is recognizable as a typical brick wall in texture, but at the same time escapes the naturally associated feeling of heaviness of such a wall, by changing material and becoming transparent. It is on the verge of disappearing.
So what is next? A completely transparent wall? An entire facade that is there but can almost not be seen? A fully invisible building, unobtrusively occupying space whilst still fulfilling its primal functions? Can we push this until only the memory of the material remains?”

Keynote Speaker, Partner, Knippers Helbig Advanced Engineering, Stuttgart, GERMANY
Professor, Institute of Building Structures and Structural Design (ITKE)

„Future façades should be responsive to both internal and external conditions. With the use of parametric and multi-criteria optimization tools, façades can be designed to respond to various functional, programmatic and environmental requirements. Kinematic systems enable real-time modifications to ambient conditions. The capacity for building skin to actively support building function is critical to the future of façade design.”

Chairman in RIFF Warsaw 2015 Conference

„I was very, very positively surprised of RIFF event, first of all of the audience, then of the quality of the speakers and of the projects presented. I was really impressed about the organisation and of the quality of conference.”
